Imprint 2015, a one-day workshop with five life changing sessions by five extraordinary speakers, concluded successfully on the 31st of January 2015 with a participation of undergraduates from leading universities of Sri Lanka. The keynote speech of the event was delivered by Distinguished Toastmaster Arunasalam Balraj, the vice president of Toastmasters International. Having mentored numerous orators who excelled in the international arena, including the recently crowned world champion of public speaking, he possesses a wealth of experience in transforming speakers to leaders. The participants were empowered with his exceptional insights on leadership, gained over several decades.
Speech and presentation is a tool for a professional to convey his or her ideas to the world. Toastmaster Sulakshana Fernando, one of the most sought after corporate trainers in the island, enlightened the audience about the effective preparation and delivery of presentations. Since non-verbal communication also plays a major part in communication, the interactive session conducted by Ms. Bimsara Premaratne, a professional actress, enabled the participants to appreciate the subtle yet powerful utilization of body language.
Speaking on “Preparing to be a global employee”, Dr. Beshan Kulapala, a research scientist at Codegen International and a mastermind behind the first-ever Sri Lankan automated super car, shared his experiences on working with global technological giants. Miss. Erangi De Costa, a senior business analyst at MillenniumIT and a past president of the Gavel Club, spoke on“Transforming into success as an undergraduate”
